Tell us about what you do.
I do a million things ! For the most part, I’m a composer & musician; I write for different things, myself mostly, but for friends, for film, for fun. I love it all. There’s this meta-love and beauty in everything that I try to find and express, especially in woe – it’s so beautiful in there. It’s like if you’re making a film about a lover and you can catch, close-up, all the things that make your heart swell, and then project it onto every wall you can find. Shouting out the glory of a freckle or an eye crinkle – I’m all about that. Expressing subtleties through sound is probably a more coherent way of describing it, but I use other mediums sometimes too.
And you’re also a pastry chef?
Yes at Pana Chocolate. Spreading the love is a recurring theme in my life.
What’s your favourite thing about the city you live in?
“Easy as, no worries”
Sydney is pretty chill compared to other cities, the sky is enormous and there’s a just do it kind of spirit about the place, which is sweet.
What are you reading right now?
L’Herbe Rouge (Red Grass) by Boris Vian. He is my favourite author of all time, and also one of my favourite dudes of all time- when I’m scattered I try to think WWBD. Or Frida, Pablo, Claude… It depends.
I’ve also got Emily Dickinson’s Collected Poems on constant rotation.
Something you wish you never lost?
Time. I’m forever losing time, and I’ve no idea where to find it.
